Erick van Egeraat (1956)

Erick van Egeraat graduated from the Technical University of Delft Department of Architecture with honourable mention in 1984 and was the co-founder of Mecanoo – the renowned avant-garde architects.

In 1995, he established (EEA) Erick van Egeraat associated architects. After more than 10 years of successful practice EEA now has offices in London, Moscow, Prague, Budapest and Rotterdam and employs more than 140 permanent professionals.

Erick van Egeraat is the recipient of numerous awards and citations most recently including the ‘Rietveldprijs 2007’, the ‘RIBA Award 2007’ for the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, the Dutch ‘School Building Award 2006’ for the Metzo College Doetinchem, the ‘For Budapest Award 2006’ for the ‘design of architectural masterpieces in Budapest’, the ‘Life in Architecture Award 2005’ for the best building in Warsaw and the ‘Copenhagen Award’ for the ‘Best City Picture’ in 2004. He is also the recipient of the IAA Professorship of the International Academy of Architecture in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Honorary Membership of the Bund Deutscher Architekten.

As well as having led the realisation of over 100 projects in more than eight countries during his 25 years of practice, Erick van Egeraat has also delivered more than 200 master classes and lectures.
